Wehr Thankful

Thankfulness

Most people tend to be thankful for our blessings this time of year, but for us at Wehr Constructors, especially Edward and myself, we remind each other throughout the year how God has watched over, protected and blessed us in so many ways.

One of our greatest gifts and assets is our employees.  We are blessed to have employees who are more like family.  We care and pray for one another.  We know their families and relish in stories about their kids’ activities, and accomplishments.  Some of the ways we express our gratitude is by holding a monthly Employee Birthday Celebration, and an annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for the employees, their families, and former retirees.  Through the year we recognize our retirees with a special honorary event.

We are also blessed for our longstanding clients, and the trust they have in us as their contractor.  The Kings Daughters’ Hospital in Madison, Indiana is a client relationship that started in 1964, and we have been their contractor ever since.   We have had a Wehr office trailer with crews at the University of Louisville Hospital for over 30 years straight, and the YMCA of Louisville has partnered with us on numerous projects over the last 40 years.  We are fortunate to have built numerous schools and churches for the Archdiocese of Louisville.   There are many more, and we are thankful and blessed by all of them.

Our business is so cyclical, it could give you an ulcer worrying about having enough work to meet our revenue and profit goals each year.  The one constant I have found in over 40 years at WEHR – is that God continues to provide for us – sometimes just when we need it!

I would like to close with a favorite quote from a good friend of mine: “Every day is a good day – some are better than others.”

With gratitude,

Dale Berry, CEO
