A Look Back at 2019

Each week at Sunday mass, when I return to my seat after receiving holy communion, I offer a prayer of thanksgiving for the blessings in my life. Among this offering is a prayer of thankfulness for the bounty of fruitful work that the good Lord has provided to Wehr Constructors. As one can see from the list below, 2019 was a particularly fruitful year:

  • Grand opening of the Republic Bank Foundation YMCA.
  • Broke ground on the Chemistry/Physics Building renovation at the University of Kentucky.
  • Negotiated nearly 50 projects with repeat clients.
  • Our Louisville division landed another major courthouse project. This project award solidified our reputation as a distinguished builder in the courthouse market.
  • Diversified our portfolio of work in several of our newer geographic markets (Lexington, KY, Bowling Green, KY and Tampa, FL). This diversification includes work in the higher education, nonprofit, municipal, and assisted living markets.
  • Established partnerships with 15 new hospital clients in the healthcare market.

In addition to this prayer of thanksgiving, I take a moment to pray for each person working for Wehr Constructors and for those working on our projects. I ask the good Lord to grant everyone safe passage to and from work and for each project site to experience a safe and productive workweek.

I’m proud to say that those prayers were answered in 2019.  In 2019 our employees worked 172,717 hours with zero accidents, zero O.S.H.A. recordable incidents and zero medically treated incidents. This is an incredible achievement! It certainly is an indication to the attention our employees pay to maintaining a safe work site.

Wehr Constructors definitely had a lot to be thankful for in 2019…now onto a successful and safe 2020!
