Collins Lane Elementary School

Wehr Constructors, Inc. was the Construction Manager at Collins Lane Elementary School in Frankfort, KY. The project included the complete demolition and reconstruction of Collins Lane Elementary School building. The project included 31 classrooms, Art Room, Music Room, Media Center, Computer Room, Multi-Use Gymnasium, Cafeteria, and Restrooms. A separate car/bus delivery drop-off canopy was designed while creating 119 parking spaces, outdoor playground, preschool playground, and outdoor basketball court.

Wehr constructed an Energy-Efficient building envelope with insulated window glazing, Geothermal HVAC system, High-Performance Building Design, all making this building Energy Star compliant. Designed to use less energy, the LED lighting dims to allow natural lighting, the MEP is designed to minimize energy use and total cost of ownership.
